Four Simple Tips that will Help You Elevate your Reels Game.
It's no surprise that Instagram reels are still going strong a year after they were launched. Video is going nowhere! They still might feel like a new tactic in your Instagram strategy, but for those that hopped on reels early, they have seen some massive gains.
That's not to say they aren't still effective though. They are perfect at reaching new audience eyeballs, and are well worth your time implementing.
There are some helpful tips I've learned through experimenting, that I thought you'd find helpful too.
No TikTok reposts
If you're using your TikTok video, download an app called SaveTok and use it to download your video watermark-free. You can then repurpose it to your reels without making Instagram unhappy! You can also then use that video for Twitter, Snapchat, or your stories easily. Sharing the watermark has been known to decrease reach, so if you've put lots of effort in the reel, it really is worth this extra step. Another option is the film in reels first, save it, then upload that to TikTok. It really depends on which editing features you prefer.
Keep in the centre of the frame
When your audience views your reel from their explore tab it is a ratio of 9:16. (story size).
But when they are shown it in their feed it's 4:5.
When it is saved to your grid, it's 1:1.
So make sure your face is just above central, and fits within the 1:1 ratio, so that it is optimized for viewing, wherever your audience sees it!
Leave a border around the text and keep it central
When the reel posts it zooms slightly, so that if you have text too close to the edges, it won't be able to be read. Keep the text centralized and with a border round the edge to make sure your message is seen. I found this out the hard way after posting one of my early reels!
High-quality images or video
Ensure that the video or images you use are high quality. I don't mean you need a DSLR, you can definitely use your phone, but make sure the light is good, the sound is clear, and that it looks professional, even if it's informal.
I can't promise that these tips will explode your reels views, but I can promise that your clients will see that you are professional and know your way around the platform. These tips will also make sure that your audience see and hear your message clearly, which is essentially our reason for investing in the social media platforms in the first place right?
